Hey EYJer,

Welcome to your Jewish home away from home. Our mission is to build a vibrant community for young professionals who live and work on the Eastside. Eastside Young & Jewish is a place where Jews can connect to G-d, Judaism, and each other through events, classes, and Jewish traditions. Whether you’re looking for friendship or to explore your Judaism or a table for Shabbat, we’ve got you.

We can’t wait to see you soon,

Your EYJ Directors

Rabbi Levi, Mina, Musya, Isahar Dov, Leiba, & Avram Shmuel

Build personal connection

EYJ is for Jews ages 21-39. Whether you’re looking to make friends, find a partner, or network professionally, we aim to provide you the space to do so comfortably. We host co-ed events as well as events for men and women separately to help grow those connections. At EYJ, we believe in the power of personal connection, whatever that means to you.

  • Who run the world? Girls! From watercolor to challah baking to yoga, I love to bring the women of this community together to connect and build friendships.

Eastside Young Jewish is built on our shared Jewish religion, ethnicity, and traditions complemented by an inherent sense of comfort. Because first and foremost, Mina and Levi become your friends. And they make it easy for all of us to connect with each other at a stage in our lives when meeting new people, let alone making friends, is hard. Judaism shapes this community, but friendship binds us together. The everyday chitchat.  The stories. The laughter. And of course, the food.

Connect to Jewish values

With the vision of the Rebbe, we set out to create a Jewish home on the Eastside. For us, even in 2025, Torah is truth and the most optimal way to live a physical and spiritual health lifestyle. The Torah prescribes the need for community—when we are able to confidently rely on someone else and know people rely on us it builds something powerful individually and collectively.

-Rabbi Levi, Co-Director

  • I love helping my parents welcome guests for Shabbos! If it’s ever just us, my siblings and I are always asking my parents where everyone is. Having you over is my favorite part of the week!

  • Eastside Young & Jewish is not just another Jewish organization, it's a family. Levi and Mina Farkash effortlessly create a warm and inviting atmosphere where all of us feel a sense of belonging and the desire to explore our Jewish identities. Whether it's cracking open a Torah or cracking open a beer, you can expect every event to be an expertly crafted experience that elaborately weaves together fun, friends, great food, and just the right amount of spirituality.
